Mista Trick to host album launch party in Bristol

Posted on: 06 Aug 2021

The event will take place at Jam Jar on Saturday 4 September.

The Bristol native, who mixes vintage, vaudeville vibes with distinctly down and dirty Drum & Bass, will celebrate the release of his highly anticipated debut album, You, with a nine-piece swing band next month.

Fizzy Gillespie and Jamu ft. Mr Bon Suis will be performing in support alongside a number of surprise guests.

You can find tickets for this energetic, unique and eclectic performance here.

Originally making a name for himself with his drum and bass remixes on the festival and club circuit, Mista Trick developed his act into a live performance with a full swing band, creating his trademark swing and bass sound.

With only three singles from his upcoming album released to date, this celebration party is a chance to be among the first to hear You in full before its official launch on September 17.

In a statement Mista Trick said: "I am so excited for this event! It's taken me over three years to produce this album through some challenging times.

"Having worked heavily with samples in the past, to progress to producing something fully original and live, with 26 incredible artists, was a dream come true.

"I can honestly say I am happy with every track that made it on to the album, and I can’t wait to celebrate You in Bristol at this special launch event."

His record label Freshly Squeezed added: "Mista Trick’s cheeky remixes of everything from Bing Crosby to Lily Allen have won him fans for both his DJ sets and his live band alike. Now we're pleased to announce he has signed his debut album to Freshly Squeezed.

"We predict a cross-over record that will raise both eyebrows and stakes. Assembling a massive cast of collaborators, he has written a series of completely original but totally authentic-sounding vintage-style tracks, which he has then treated as remix material.

"His trademark sound is taking it up a notch, with dancing feet rooted in the Drum & Bass, Electro Swing and Jazz worlds."
