Bristol Beacon to relaunch Terrace Sessions with Noods Radio, Slack Alice + more

Posted on: 04 Aug 2021

Experience a vibrant mix of Bristol music at the Beacon's hidden-gem terrace space.

The Bristol Beacon team have unveiled a full programme for their returning Terrace Sessions series, inviting a selection of local artists, musicians and promoters to host their own exhibitions and parties.

Taking place from Thursday 5 - Sunday 29 August, events are set to cover everything from contemporary art to a broad spectrum of electronic and live music.

It's hoped that the coming weeks will present a spot of good weather in Bristol, giving attendees the chance to bask in the evening summer sun while overlooking a panorama of the city centre from the Beacon's renowned Terrace area.

The Terrace Sessions will be kicking off with local collective Shiiku, combining music, spoken word and visual work with their latest free exhibition, 'The Change' on Thursday 5 August.

From there, the Bristol Beacon will be hosting renowned artists DJ Cheeba, SLAUGHTERHOUSE and Phoenician Blinds & Tezeta, as well as the Noods Radio, Durkle Disco and Slack Alice crews.

Speaking on the relaunch of the series, Bristol Beacon Head of Programming, Todd Wills, said the idea behind the Terrace Sessions is to showcase the venue's unique Terrace and shine a light on a range of Bristol-based artists.

Located, naturally, on the top floor of Bristol Beacon, the Terrace has hosted a wide range of events over the years, from smaller exhibitions and live performances to parties and DJ sets organised by a range of respected promoters.

"We’re pleased that Shiiku will be kicking things off with The Change exhibition," he added, "and the likes of Slack Alice, Kayla Painter and Fruit Machine will be headlining some fantastic shows throughout August.”

Tickets and a full programme for the August Terrace Sessions series are available now and can be found here. For more information, or to find out what else is coming up at the Bristol Beacon this year, head to the venue's website.
