Opened initially in July 2020, Breaking Bread was a hit with Bristolians upon its launch, providing a unique dining experience for locals as well as a range of employment opportunities for the struggling hospitality industry.

Thousands visited the pop-up tipi village during its first stint, with a programme made up of guest kitchen takeovers, live music, live comedy, DJ residencies from local promoters and more.

Now, ahead of what's certain to be a busy summer for UK hospitality as COVID-19 restrictions are gradually eased, Breaking Bread are inviting another stellar cast of live musicians and DJs to provide the soundtrack for more memorable nights on The Downs.

Alongside a weekly Breaking Bread Jazz Club featuring a selection of esteemed bands and solo artists, expect top-notch sets from the likes of Jackin Patz & Tender T, Crazy P & Friends and Sunun & Robin Stewart.

A selection of beloved Bristol-based collectives will also be making appearances across May & June, including Mix Nights DJs, Peachin' residents and the Friendly Records team.

Tables are bookable in groups of up to six people, with The Pipe & Lovers bar open from 17:00-23:00 Tuesday to Friday, 12:00-23:00 on Saturdays and 12:00-21:00 on Sundays.

The team are currently serving up their delicious bar menu every evening alongside an extensive range of drinks, with their Sunday Roast service now up and running.

Table bookings for the full May/June season at Breaking Bread are now open and can be made here. For more information, to browse the full lineup or to follow news and updates in the coming weeks, head to the Breaking Bread website or find the team on Twitter.
