The beloved Keynsham record store will be expanding into central Bristol in the coming weeks.

Renowned independent record store Longwell Records have announced plans to open a new location, branching out from their base in Keynsham with a new setup on Bristol's Harbourside.

Stocking everything from new and second-hand vinyl from a diverse selection of genres to art and merchandise designed by local artists such as Oli T and Inkie, Longwell's new store will become the latest addition to the growing retail offering on Wapping Wharf.

An official opening date is still to be confirmed, but you can follow news and updates from the Longwell Records team on Twitter ahead of the launch.

Opened in 2016 on Temple Street in Keynsham, Longwell Records have become an integral part of their local musical community in recent years.

Alongside stocking new music and classic releases from an array of artists based both in Bristol and further afield, their flagship store has hosted a series of intimate gigs and live performances from the likes of Razorlight, The Allergies and Amber Run.

Bristol-born Iain Aitchison, owner of Longwell Records, describes himself as "a lover of all things Bristol," and says he's "hoping to bring some big names to our new home, making the most of the great relationships we have with so many record labels."

Iain opened Longwell's original shop after a thirty-year career in the NHS as a support worker, helping people with learning disabilities and those affected by substance misuse.

"My shop has grown into something quite special; it's very inclusive and supportive of the local arts and music scene," he says.

"We stock new and used vinyl with a great reputation for price and for our friendly approach. We know our customers by name, and vice versa, and often have conversations about things going on in their day-to-day life, a mutually supportive relationship."

Longwell Records' new branch will be located in the CARGO 2 complex at Wapping Wharf, and is set to open in the coming weeks. For more information, or to follow news and updates, head to the store's website or find the team on Twitter.
