Bristol Hippodrome closure extended to early April
Posted on: 01 Feb 2021The venue team have released a full list of rescheduled and postponed performances.
The Bristol Hippodrome is set to remain closed until at least early April, venue operators ATG have confirmed, having previously suggested they'd be able to reopen in February.
Initially closed down in March 2020 with the introduction of the first UK lockdown, the theatre was unable to open through last summer, into autumn and then winter. The latest extension means the iconic venue will have been closed for over a year.
Now, amid the current lockdown and ongoing fears regarding the coronavirus crisis, ATG have taken the decision to suspend all shows until Saturday 3 April.
Now, as the UK government begins to tighten measures once again in an effort to limit the spread of the virus, ATG have taken the decision to suspend all shows until Sunday 17 January 2021.

In a statement released online yesterday (Sunday 31 January), ATG said venues nationwide would remain closed due to ongoing safety fears for staff, performers and visitors.
"Unfortunately, as a result of ongoing social distancing restrictions, we have now suspended performances at our UK venues until Saturday 3rd April 2021," they said.
"We apologise for the inconvenience caused but hope you will understand given the exceptional circumstances."
The statement went on to confirm that customers who have made a booking for a suspended performance don't need to take any action, and will be contacted in the coming days.
Bookings for shows already rescheduled have been automatically moved to the new dates, with full credit vouchers and refunds available to those who are unable to make the rearranged performances.
"Over the last few months," ATG added, "our teams up and down the country have successfully rescheduled thousands of performances of great quality plays, musicals, comedy and live music.
"On behalf of all our staff, backstage crews, front of house teams, actors, dancers, musicians and the entire industry we thank you for your support as we work together to ensure the future success of British Theatre."
