Get to know one of Bristol's biggest stars.

Bristol Festival of Ideas and the team behind the Cary Grant Comes Home Festival will be hosting an online talk and Q&A to celebrate the launch of Cary Grant: The Making of a Hollywood Legend, a new book exploring the extraordinary life of one of Bristol's biggest stars.

Taking place tonight (Monday 18 January), coinciding with the 117th birthday of the man himself, the event will be hosted by festival director Andrew Kelly and is set to feature an exclusive discussion of the book's author, Mark Glancy.

Tickets are available in limited numbers on a pay-what-you-can basis. Find out more and get yours here.

Celebrating the life and times of a bonafide, Bristol-born movie star, the biennial Cary Grant Comes Home Festival offers a broad selection of film screenings, talks, Q&As, watch parties, challenges and more.

Forced to move online this year amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the organisers hosted their first-ever virtual event in November, with author Mark Glancy sitting down with festival founder Charlotte Crofts as part of the programme.

Glancy will be taking centre stage once again as he celebrates the full release of his eagerly-anticipated biography, for which he was given "unprecedented access" to Cary Grant's personal papers, belongings and memorabilia.
