Pick up freshly-made bread, pasta, sauces and more in support of a much-loved Bristol independent.

The team behind popular Bristol restaurant Bianchis have announced plans to temporarily open as a shop during lockdown, selling a wide range of freshly-made and locally-sourced products while they're unable to operate as normal.

As well as stocking freshly-baked bread, handmade pasta, sauces, wines and much more, Bianchis will also be home to a new deli counter and kitchen takeaway, offering up delicious meals and snacks prepared daily in-house.

The pop-up will be launching with a trial run this weekend, open from 11:00 to 18:00 on Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 January, with an official opening scheduled for Wednesday 20 January.

Located on York Street inside what used to be the famous Bell's Diner, Bianchis is a renowned Italian restaurant operated by the team behind Pasta Loco and Pasta Ripiena.

The kitchen's ethos of quality, honest cooking uses only the best locally and internationally-sourced ingredients to produce a wide range of top-notch dishes.

Alongside a range of locally-sourced free-range and organic meats, the pop-up will be stocking a selection of dried goods from Italy and Spain. You'll also be able to choose from an extensive wine list to find the perfect pairing for any meal.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the Bianchis team are taking every precaution to make the space as safe as possible for visitors and staff, including a new queuing system and indoor social distancing guidance.

As part of an Instagram post revealing the news, Bianchis explained that their website will be going live in the coming days, where customers will be able to browse the full selection of products and menus.

From next week, the restaurant will also be launching a pre-order service for items like bread and pasta kits, veg boxes and Bianchis' popular Chefs Selection box.
