Gloucester Old Spot launch Lockdown Pies delivery service

Posted on: 12 Jan 2021

10% of all profits from the all-new service will be donated to St Mungo's.

Popular Horfield pub The Gloucester Old Spot have officially launched Lockdown Pies, a brand-new delivery service distributing freshly-made pies across Bristol, Bath, Gloucester and Somerset.

With the pub closed for the foreseeable future, the team have decided to use the latest UK lockdown to make use of their empty kitchen and get to work cooking up a delicious new menu.

Orders must be placed before Friday 15 January by contacting The Old Spot on 07714160606, with (free) deliveries starting on Monday 18.

Whether you're trying Veganuary, detoxing this month or just fancy a pick-me-up during another difficult lockdown, The Old Spot's pies should be just what the doctor ordered.

Choose from a Chicken, Chorizo, White Wine & Cannelini Bean; Beef, Guinness & Horseradish or Sweet Potato, Squash, Vegan Smoked Gouda, Spinach & Plum Chutney pie, all prepared with love by Old Spot owner Amy and her pie-wizard partner.

If you're committed to healthy eating this month, you can still make an order, pop your pie in the freezer and enjoy it - guilt-free - in February. Ingredients are fresh and locally-sourced wherever possible, with meat provided by Bristol-based Buxton Butchers.

The delivery service, covering the entirety of Bristol, Bath, Gloucester and Somerset, is available free of charge, and will be running from Monday 18 January onwards.

Pies can be ordered in batches of four or eight, priced at £16 and £30 respectively. In an effort to support efforts to tackle homelessness in and around Bristol, 10% of all Lockdown Pies profits will be donated to St Mungo's.

For more information on Lockdown Pies, or to make an order, contact the team on 07714160606. Alternatively, to follow news and updates or to browse the menu, head to their Facebook page.
