The new year is officially here, and with it comes another call from us at 365Bristol to do what you can to support The Bristol Cable, one of the city's most important publications and a dependable voice for our communities.

Despite facing major challenges over the last nine months, the Cable are still dedicated to producing innovative, hard-hitting journalism, accessible to all.

Membership to Bristol's only 100% community-owned newspaper, starting at just £3 per month, will earn you a quarterly print copy of the Cable as well as a democratic stake in the paper. Find out more here.

Launched in 2014, the Bristol Cable team produce quality, local journalism in print and online, addressing the issues posed by the mass corporate ownership of the UK's media sector. It's co-owned by over 2,000 Bristolians, operating as a not-for-profit organisation led by its members.

The paper holds power to account, campaigns for change and amplifies marginalised voices through groundbreaking investigative pieces, with its roots firmly planted in local communities.

Winner of the 2019 British Journalism Award for local journalism and shortlisted for a 2020 Orwell Foundation Prize, the Cable uses pioneering methods of in-person and digital engagement to put the public at the centre of public interest journalism.

Despite the huge challenges posed by the pandemic in 2020, the Cable team continued to provide the city with in-depth reports of a wide range of topics, from coronavirus news to community updates and coverage of historic Black Lives Matter protests in June.

For just £3, £5 or £10 a month you can help fund the Cable, getting a democratic stake in the newspaper's operation, access to a range of events and regular print editions delivered direct to your door.
