Discover new music from Chikaya, Elder Island, Cousin Kula and more in our Bristol Radio December Update.

Christmas is very nearly upon us, and with it comes our final Spotify playlist update of the year.

2020 has been extremely difficult for us all, and we've been missing Bristol artists, venues and crowds since everything came to a grinding halt back in March.

Despite the impact of the pandemic, however, musicians across the city have continued to release a steady stream of stellar singles, EPs and albums to make things a little more bearable for us all.

For most of us, the new normal means discovering and listening to music within the confines of our own homes until venues are eventually able to safely host events again.

With that in mind, we thoroughly recommend you head on over to Spotify and browse Bristol Radio, our growing playlist dedicated to the brilliant Bristol music scene.

Among our final playlist additions before the new year are hard-hitting duo Giant Swan, eclectic solo artist Chikaya and fast-rising outfit Scalping, who recently made headlines with their first single on London-based label Houndstooth.

Of course, we couldn't overlook acclaimed Bristol-based vocalist Katy J Pearson in our latest update, whose debut album, Return, drew an array of glowing reviews upon its release last month.

Elsewhere on the playlist, expect smooth grooves from Elder Island, Cousin Kula and Farebrother, soulful acoustics courtesy of Maya Law, Robi Mitch and Lady Nade, and no-nonsense tracks from Heavy Lungs, Leeches and Football FC.

Electronic music fans can also find innovative underground sounds from Bristol's best-loved DJs and producers, including Shanti Celeste, Batu and Peverelist.

If you're on the hunt for some new music, tune in to Bristol Radio and get to know some of the city's most exciting emerging artists.
