Children's Hospice festive fundraiser set to go virtual this December

Raise vital funds for Children's Hospice South West this Christmas.

The Children's Hospice South West team have unveiled plans for the return of Santas on the Run, set to take place in a new virtual format this December amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

After a difficult year for the charity in 2020, it's hoped that Santas on the Run can spread some festive cheer, get the public in their Christmas gear and bring smiles to children and families across the South West.

Any time over the weekend from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 December, participants are encouraged to skip, run, walk, hop, skate or sledge 1km on a chosen route to raise vital funds for the ongoing support of children living with life-limiting conditions.

The more festive the better, so we recommend getting as creative as you can with your costume as you get out in support an incredible Bristol-based charity this Christmas!

After last year's Santas on the Run raised an amazing £80,000, Children's Hospice South West are calling on the great Bristol public to join them (virtually) this time around to ensure local children and families can continue to receive essential care now and into the future.

Whether it's your local park, a nearby beauty spot or even your own back garden, complete your 1km and spread the word across your social media channels to raise as much money as you can for a great cause on Friday 11, Saturday 12 or Sunday 13 December.

Once you reach a suggested sponsorship target of £15, the hospice team will send you a special Santas on the Run medal to commemorate your fundraising efforts.

Organisers will also be streaming warm-up routines on their Facebook event page during the leadup to the weekend, making sure you're properly limbered up before your route.

To get started, find out more about Santas on the Run 2020 or follow news and updates, head to the Children's Hospice South West website or find them on Facebook.
