JAVA to reopen on Park Street after years of closure

Posted on: 21 Oct 2020

The landmark venue has been unused since it closed in 2015.

Long-standing Park Street spot JAVA is set to reopen in the coming weeks, with a new management team putting the finishing touches on the venue ahead of its official unveiling as a new day-and-night cafe-bar.

Billed by new owners Impact Leisure Group as "an experience like no other", the new space will be set across four rooms, taking over the former cafe next door, previously Cafe du Jour.

JAVA will be open from 10:00 tomorrow (Thursday 22 October) - table bookings are available now through their Facebook page.

Adorned with furnishings, fixtures and other materials taken from luxury transatlantic cruise liner, The Mauretania, the already-stunning interior has been brought back to life by the JAVA refurbishment team.

Open through the week, the venue will operate breakfast, lunch and dinner services during daytime trading, with a brand-new bar, private function room and nightclub open to the public in the evenings.

As well as a vibrant new food menu, JAVA will be serving up a diverse selection of classic and contemporary cocktails, featuring an array of intriguing modern twists on old favourites.

Amid the ongoing coronavirus crisis, the nightclub space will remain closed for the time being, but the private lounge will be available for hire for events or occasions.

JAVA General Manager, Chris, revealed his excitement ahead of tomorrow's opening, explaining the team are ready to "offer a unique experience right here in the heart of Bristol.

"It’s been great to watch the place come back to life throughout the refurbishment and we can’t wait to open up the doors," he added.
