The all-new photobook explores the heart and soul of one a major Bristol high street.

Acclaimed local photographer Colin Moody has released a brand-new book shining a light on Bristol's independent spirit and unwavering focus on community.

The Great Bristol High Street puts the lens on the business owners of Gloucester Road, recognising the personalities behind the shops we rely on and adding layers to what is already a rich history of independent trade in Bristol.

Featuring in-depth interviews and articles with traders and locals up and down the high street, the book offers a detailed look into exactly what it is that makes Gloucester Road tick.

Going behind the scenes and living out full days from dawn to dusk, Colin Moody's The Great Bristol High Street tells a series of unfiltered, down-to-earth stories through the people that make their living along Gloucester Road.

Speaking on the release of his new book, Colin said: "Traders are the heart, soul and backbone of our high streets. Their shops provide a focus for community, a friendly face and in hard times a helping hand.

"This project recognises the personalities and services we rely on and which add to the layers of history already laid down with Gloucester Road as the Great Bristol High Street."

Author of popular book Stokes Croft & Montpelier, Colin has been documenting life in Bristol since his move to the city in 2009.

Having worked on a number of films and TV shows, Colin has been part of several well-received local projects, and is currently working alongside SaveBristolNightlife to capture personal stories from pubs across Bristol and raise awareness of the struggling sector.

The Great Bristol High Street is on sale at independent bookstores across the city, including CoLAB, Storysmith and the People's Republic of Stokes Croft (PRSC) building.
