Posted on: 18 Sep 2020

Catch comedians Rich Hall, Rosie Jones and Andrew Ryan at Ashton Gate Stadium next month.

Ashton Gate Stadium’s popular comedy event, Comedy at the Gate, is back.

To celebrate the August Bank Holiday, TV comedian Russell Kane took over the stadium’s Dolman Hall for a night of stand up, with the help of some special guests.

The event was a hit, so it’s returning for round two. Here's what you need to know.

On Saturday 3 October, Rich Hall, the award-winning comedian hailing from Montana, USA, will take the Bristol stage with his absurdist irony and rapid-fire wit.

Rich first rose to prominence as a sketch comedian in the 1980s, writing and performing for shows like The David Letterman Show and Saturday Night Live.

Since then, he’s become a regular in the UK, appearing on shows such as QI, Live At The Apollo and 8 Out Of 10 Cats. Watch him in action:

At Ashton Gate, Rich will be joined by two very special guests - Andrew Ryan and Rosie Jones.

Irishman Andrew Ryan started his comedy career in 2008. Since, he’s risen through the ranks – he was due to support John Bishop on tour this summer.

Andrew has appeared on countless shows too, including Russell Howard’s Good News and Comedy Central’s Live at The Comedy Store.

Last but not least, there’s Rosie Jones. Rosie’s written for panel like andappeared as a guest on The Last Legand 8 Out of 10 Cats.

Rosie has previously incorporated her cerebral palsy into her comedic style, exploring topics of disability and sexuality in her performances.

The gig kicks off at 20:30 on Saturday 3 October.

Groups of up to four and six can book a table for the event. A table for groups of up to four costs £70, and a table for six costs £100.

On the night, the stadium’s Sports Bar will be open for drinks, and popular Bristol chain Pizza Workshop will be serving up… well, pizza.

The show is suitable for ages 14+.

To book, head over to the Ashton Gate website or call 0117 9630 600.
