Celebrate Second Hand September with Sobey's Vintage Clothing

Second Hand September 2020 is now in full swing, and what better way to mark the occasion than with a visit to one of Bristol's leading vintage clothing retailers?
Located inside Bristol historic Arcade shopping quarter, Sobey's Vintage Clothing have been offering up everything from one-of-a-kind reworked bits to rare designer clothing, jewellery, quirky accessories and more from their city-centre store since 2018.
One of two locations in Bristol, with the flagship store set up on Park Street, Sobey's is a firm favourite among Bristol's extensive population of fashion-conscious and environmentally-savvy shoppers.
The dedicated Sobey's team do their best to source items that are in-season, unique and affordable, year-round.
For every pair of vintage Levi's jeans, you'll find a reworked Ralph Lauren fleece, some oversized dungarees and a collection of custom-made homeware.
Speaking to 365Bristol last year, Sobey's Store Manager, Hannah Sheehan, expressed a love of wearing vintage and highlighted the importance of shopping vintage in environmental terms.
"In today’s climate," she explained, "in terms of sustainability and being environmentally-friendly, it’s really important to buy vintage.” Read the full feature here.
It's that focus on sustainability that makes Sobey's the perfect spot to shop consciously during Second Hand September, an annual event set up by Oxfam to tackle the environmental of fast fashion.
The charity estimate that as many as 13 million items of clothing end up in UK landfill sites every week. Second Hand September aims to alleviate the impact of throwaway fashion by encouraging people to buy used clothing for 30 days.
Having been selling products through their Facebook, Depop and Instagram pages through lockdown, Sobey's are back in business under normal operating hours.
Pop in to Sobey's in The Arcade between 10:00 and 18:00 Monday to Saturday, and 11:00 to 17:00 on Sundays.
