Another Bristol museum is ready to welcome back visitors: The George Müller Museum is reopening on Wednesday 2 September.

The free, interactive museum in BS7 sets out the story of George Müller who cared for 10,000 orphans in C19th Bristol. It's free to enter.

Inside the museum, guests can enjoy interactive exhibits, original artefacts and archive records.

To ensure the safety of staff and visitors, the museum will operate with a series of new social distancing guidelines.

The George Müller Museum will reopen at 10:00 on Wednesday 2 September.

The museum’s new opening hours Wednesday 10:00 to 16:00, Thursday 10:00 to 12.00 and Friday 10:00 to 16:00.

Visitors will need to book a free entry time slot (of up to 90 minutes) in advance. Book via email or phone.

At the moment, the museum can only welcome visitors from one household or support bubble at a time.

All visitors must wear a face covering unless exempt, and the museum will accept contactless payment only.

The entire venue will be open, and there will be a Museum Guide on hand to welcome guests and answer questions.

Some items have been removed to comply with government guidelines, including the orphan uniforms.

In Victorian Bristol, George Müller housed and educated over 10,000 orphans through prayer, faith and the generosity of thousands.

Inside the museum, discover a typical day in the life of an orphan, what school was like and where orphans moved onto after leaving the homes.

The George Müller Museum also houses original artefacts including Müller’s desk and Bible (complete with his own notes).

In 2019, the museum relocated to one of original Orphan Homes which George Müller built in Bristol during the Victorian era.

You can now find it in BS7, at The Lofthouse on College Road.
