You can go skydiving to raise money for a local charity – here's how

The Grand Appeal's team skydive is back.

Are you a thrill-seeker? Want to raise money for an important local cause? Well, now you can.

Thanks to a further easing in lockdown measures, The Grand Appeal's sponsored skydive is back.

Learn the true meaning of having your 'head in the clouds' as you fall through the skies from 15,000 feet, in support of the Bristol Children's Hospital charity.

The next one is taking place on Sunday 23 August at Dunkeswell Airfield in Honiton, Devon. Here's what you need to know.

The Grand Appeal's sponsored skydive sees a group of fundraisers fall through the skies in a tandem skydive. (That's when a student skydiver is connected to an instructor via a harness.)

Skydivers raise money for The Grand Appeal, which is the Bristol Children's Hospital charity; a facility at the heart of children's healthcare in the South West.

The Grand Appeal supports pioneering research, life-saving equipment and art programmes, and provides family accommodation and specialist support staff.

To take part in August's sponsored skydive, you'll need to register on the Grand Appeal website.

To register, hit the 'tickets' button and select your preferred jump date and time, and pay a non-refundable deposit.

Next, set up a JustGiving page to kick start your fundraising. To help you raise funds, the charity will provide expert fundraising advice and resources.
