THESE EVENTS HAVE NOW BEEN CANCELLED

Experience live events - with a healthy dose of social distancing – this summer in Bristol.

A drive-in concert series will be staged at the former Airfield in Filton this summer, as part of a huge UK tour.

Live from the Drive-In will see some of the biggest names in UK music perform with full concert production, with space for around 280 cars at each event.

Complete with concert-quality sound, full lighting and LED screens, the series will run in Bristol from the end of July until the end of September, with up to six live events per week.

Acts locked in to perform include Dizzee Rascal, The Streets and Beverly Knight.

Tickets for the first events will go on sale at 10:00 on Monday (22 June), and more acts will be announced in the weeks to come. Get yours here

As well as gigs, the series will also feature West End theatre, DJs, film screenings, comedy shows and family events, with more events to be added.

On Saturday 1 August, ABBA tribute Björn Again will perform, followed on Tuesday afternoon by a live, interactive science event - Brainiac Live.

At each event, attendees will be allocated a designated area to park, with space next to their vehicle where they can sit, stand and dance. Cars will be distanced from each other.

Live from the Drive-In, Artists’ Impression

Last year, Massive Attack performed at the former Airfield with a custom-built structure.

Live from the Drive-In in Bristol has been put together by Live Nation and the team behind the upcoming YTL Arena Complex.

Earlier this year, the YTL Arena Bristol was given planning permission to repurpose Brabazon Hangars, located on the edge of the Airfield, into a big entertainment complex.

Sarah McBride, Partnerships Director for YTL Arena Complex, said:

“We are incredibly excited to be hosting Live Nation’s drive-in events here at the former Filton Airfield. This is an opportunity for the live events sector to start up again safely, supporting staff, performers and restoring confidence in audiences.

“This is going to be an exciting summer, packed with a range of events for all ages to enjoy and we look forward to welcoming everyone on site.”
Live From the Drive In

Peter Taylor, a Live Nation Promoter, said:

“We are excited to bring Utilita Live From The Drive-In to fans across the U.K.

"This outdoor concert series was created as a way to reimagine the live music experience during a time of social distancing by allowing fans to enjoy concerts in the safest way possible."
