The Television and Movie Store opens in The Galleries

A new store stocking all-things pop culture has opened in The Galleries.

Following the success of its Cardiff shop, which opened in 2007, The Television and Movie Store has opened in The Galleries.

A specialist retailer, The Television and Movie Store stocks a range of merchandise, clothing and collectables related to popular titles.

In addition to Doctor Who merchandise, which was the original Cardiff store’s original speciality, the shop covers a huge range of genres; from Pokémon and Adventure Time to Star Wars and Superheroes.

The shop occupies the unit previously held by Hawkins Bazaar, on the ground floor of The Galleries.

Proprietor Steven Scott said:

“I have wanted to open in Bristol for some time as our Cardiff store in The St David’s Centre is regularly visited by Bristolians.

“When we became aware of the availability of a prime site in Bristol, we decided it was time to expand.

“We were very fortunate to be able to recruit the ex-Hawkins staff who have a passion for our sort of merchandise.

“We specialise in pop culture: Star Wars, Doctor Who, Marvel, DC, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones and Star Trek are just some of the very many genres we carry.

Set to be a firm favourite with Bristol’s sci-fi and cult TV fans, The Television and Movie Store, Steven said, stocks pop vinyl, action figures, collectables and more: “you name it, we’ve got it.”

“We’re all very excited to be defying the odds and putting down new roots.

“Of course, it’s an unusual time, but in the world of Science Fiction and Cult TV, there is no such thing as normal. What better time could there be for us to open?”

The new Television and Movie Store opened yesterday, alongside many other shops in The Galleries Mall following an easing of lockdown measures.

To keep shoppers and staff safe, The Galleries has implemented a range of social distancing measures around the Mall. Find out more here
