Tonight: don't miss The Big Fat 80s Quiz in support of The Chelsea Inn
Posted on: 12 Jun 2020The Bristol-based Big Fat Virtual Pub Quiz team are hosting an 80s-themed quiz in support of struggling Easton pub The Chelsea Inn.
Having been hosting weekly quiz nights and raising money for a range of charitable causes since the beginning of lockdown, The Big Fat Virtual Quiz has committed to fundraising for small venues across the UK in June as part of the nationwide #SaveOurVenues campaign.
This week, through the second edition of their Big Fat 80s Quiz, they'll be supporting The Chelsea Inn, a much-loved pub and live music venue in Easton.
Located on Chelsea Road in BS5, The Chelsea Inn has been hit hard by the COVID-19 outbreak, facing a total loss of revenue while also in need of major repair works.
An integral part of the surrounding community, the pub is in desperate need of funds to survive.
Tonight's Big Fat 80s Quiz, kicking off at 20:00, hopes to boost the pub's GoFundMe page, which has so far raised just over half of its £10,000 target.
Outlining their situation on the fundraising page, The Chelsea team said:
"Due to ongoing and extensive structural renovations, followed by the blow of having to close our doors for everyone's safety during the current Covid-19 outbreak, we are now desperately low on funds.
"We appreciate that this is a hard time for all of us, but if you are able to donate towards the running costs of the pub we would be so, so grateful.
"We love and miss you all, and hope we can pull through and see you all at the bar again."
To get involved, all you need to do is 'follow' the Big Fat Virtual Pub Quiz Facebook page, and have the page open just before 20:00.
The hosts will explain the rules once the broadcast gets underway.
The quiz is free to take part in, however donations are welcome in support of one of Easton's best-loved pub venues.
