Rough Trade Bristol to reopen next week

Rough Trade Bristol to reopen next week

Posted on: 09 Jun 2020

The city centre record store will be reopening on Tuesday 16 June at 11:00.

Earlier today (Tuesday 9 June), Rough Trade announced that its Bristol store, along with Rough Trade East, West, and Rough Trade Nottingham are set to reopen next week.

The stores, including Rough Trade's Bristol shop on Nelston Street, will reopen next Tuesday (16 June) at 11:00.

In a post on the Rough Trade website, the record store chain has explained it will implement safety measures in line with the latest government guidelines upon reopening its stores.

The post explains that gloves and hand sanitizer will be provided to everyone who enters the store, and each store will operate at a limited capacity.

Social distancing measures will be in place, and perplex screens will be installed at till points.

Rough Trade will only accept card-only truncations, and the toilets will be out of use.

Although the record shop will be open, Rough Trade's in-house café/bar will be closed until further notice.

As of Tuesday 16 June, Rough Trade Bristol will be open with limited hours, from Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00 to 17:30. For now, the store will be closed on Sundays and Mondays.

Rough Trade has also said that all Click & Collect orders will be fulfilled as usual, with collections possible within the updated opening hours.

Rough Trade Bristol opened on Nelson Street during December 2017. Since then, the likes of IDLES, Metronomy and Django Django have performed in-store.

Recently, Rough Trade Bristol was awarded a National Lottery Project Grant from Arts Council England.

In a blog post, the team behind the Nelson Street record shop and live music space explained what the grant will mean for the venue:

"The funding we've been awarded will allow us to upgrade various sound equipment and improve sound treatments to the venue for the benefit of all." Find out more.
