The Cloak and Dagger launch Sunday Roast delivery service

Posted on: 30 Mar 2020

Most of us are stuck at home for the foreseeable, without the option of a trip down to the pub for a beastly Sunday Roast.

It’s a shame, of course, but the Cheltenham Road’s quirky restaurant, bar and events space, The Cloak and Dagger, have come up with a clever solution.

This week, the Cloak and Dagger have launched a brand-new Sunday Roast delivery service.

Even better, they’re taking pre-orders now! Here’s what you need to know.

The Cloak and Dagger’s Sunday Roast

The Sunday Roast service boasts three courses and at least three different options per course to choose from. It also caters for veggies.

To start, why not kick off with a luxurious truffled rarebit toastie, made with Bristol Loaf sourdough? (It’s just £5.)

Then, why not gorge on braised lamb neck (£16.50), served with all the best bits of a Roast; Yorkshire puddings, roast carrots and Yorkshire puddings.

To finish off, choose a dessert from their small, but perfectly-formed sweet menu.

Check out the full menu on their Facebook page.

Haven’t had a chance to check out the Cloak and Dagger’s Sunday Roast selection yet? You’d be forgiven if not: they opened late last year.

If you haven’t, then check out our review of the Cloak and Dagger's Sunday Roast.

To pre-order your Sunday Roast, give the Cloak and Dagger a call on 0117 329 4758.

The Cloak and Dagger need your help: a recently-opened café, bar and grassroots events space, the venue risks closure amid COVID-19.

In a recently-launched GoFundMe page, the Cloak and Dagger said:

“We are still relatively new and in our incubation months.

“Our first year of trading was budgeted to survive a small loss, but now as trading has ceased altogether due to Coronavirus our losses are so great we may risk permanent closure.”

Inside The Cloak and Dagger

A project aimed at protecting the city’s supply of smaller venues, The Cloak and Dagger programmed a packed calendar of weekly events and activities upon opening, including markets, club nights and creative workshops.

Set over two floors, the venue also functions as a café and bar, serving up brunch, Roasts and more throughout the week.

You can also hire the Cloak and Dagger, too, for events and parties.

In an attempt to save the venue, the Cloak and Dagger’s GoFundMe page allows donators to provide their future custom.

With the page, the venue is pre-selling room hire for private functions, drinks and dining packages.

So, if you donate £2.50, you can receive a voucher for a future coffee and cake, usually worth a fiver, and so on.

"By buying early you will get the benefit of having offers at a super discounted rate which will not be available otherwise," the page continues.

"Your purchase will pay for our staff costs now, and will mean we are able to continue and to re-schedule events and re-open with a bang, offering more than before."
