Motion voted 14th best club in the world in annual DJ Mag poll

Posted on: 26 Mar 2020

The revered Avon Street venue has once again been recognised in DJ Mag's annual poll.

This will come as no surprise to thousands of Bristolians that know and love it, but Motion has been voted among the top 15 clubs on the planet as part of DJ Mag's 2020 Top 100 Clubs list.

Motion voted 14th best club in the world by DJ Mag.

Widely regarded as the best venue in Bristol and one of the best in the whole of the UK, Motion once again welcomed some of the world's top DJs and live acts to play a wide range of parties over the last 12 months.

Despite falling from 11th place in the 2019 poll, Motion remains the UK's third-best rated club venue, behind London's Printworks and Mayfield Depot, home of the Warehouse Project in Manchester.

The club's 2019 in:Motion series was one of its biggest yet, with the likes of Four Tet, Mr Scruff, Annie Mac and many more playing across the Autumn/Winter season.

It was, however, announced late in the year that in:Motion 2019 would be the last edition of the much-loved series, leaving the Motion team with a clean slate going into 2020.

This year presents an opportunity for Bristol's biggest club venue to shake things up a bit, and already they've hosted a string of huge parties and live performances, from Mall Grab's Looking for Trouble to The Game's live show earlier in March.

The Coronavirus outbreak has disrupted what was an eagerly-anticipated Spring programme, with a new-look version of Motion's YARD: Open Air Club ready to welcome the likes of Palms Trax, Denis Sulta, KiNK and many more to BS2 across the May bank holiday.

It's not clear what the future holds for the club scene in 2020, but you can be sure that, once the Coronavirus is contained and normal life resumes, Motion will be back to doing what they do best - hosting some of the biggest and best parties in the country on a regular basis.
