The company will be performing Akram Khan's Creature for four nights from Wednesday 18 November to Saturday 21 November.

The English National Ballet's latest production will see them work alongside esteemed dancer and choreographer Akram Khan for the third time, bringing his brand-new production, Creature, to life at the Bristol Hippodrome.

Telling the unearthly tale of exploitation and human frontiers, Creature draws on themes of abandonment, isolation and the fragility of the human mind.

Inspired by Mary Shelley's Frankenstein and Georg Büchner’s expressionist classic Woyzeck, the story tells of an outsider and the search for belonging.

Performed by the internationally-renowned English National Ballet, Khan's collaborators on the show include Academy Award-winning designer Tim Yip, composer Vincenzo Lamagna and lighting designer Michael Hulls.

Speaking on the announcement of Creature's 2020 tour, Khan said "the outcast [and] the stranger have been a common theme in my work. In Creature, I'm looking further into areas related to the sense of abandonment, rage and loss."

Creature is Khan's second full-length ballet, following on from the success from his debut, Giselle, which has been seen live by well over 100,000 people around the UK and the rest of the world.

After a world premiere in London, Creature will be performed at Sadler's Wells in the capital from 11 November to 14 November. After, it'll arrive in Bristol for four nights from Wednesday 18 November to Saturday 21 November 2020.

Tickets for The English National Ballet's performance of Akram Khan's Creature go on sale at 10:00 on Wednesday 5 February and can be found here.
