Belle and Sebastian will perform at Bristol’s Harbour this summer, on Friday 17 July.

The huge headline gig will see the Glasgow indie band perform at the Lloyds Amphitheatre, alongside special guests Django Django.

The outdoor gig forms part of the Colston Hall Presents programme, which sees the Hall’s gig programme take over different venues whilst it undergoes refurbishments.

Formed in 1994, Belle and Sebastian rose to prominence with their debut album Tiger Milk. Since, the seven-piece band have sparked a cult-like following around the world.

The summer gig will see the band perform in Bristol for the first time in five years.

Joining Belle and Sebastian will be London’s indie electronic quartet Django Django, who were nominated for a Mercury Prize for their 2012 debut album.

The show is set to be Django Django’s biggest in Bristol to date, following their last appearance in the city two years ago.

This will be the fifth year Colston Hall has hosted shows at the Amphitheatre, following up from last year’s performances from New Order and The Specials.

In previous years, Colston Hall has brought the likes of Goldie, Jimmy Cliff and Grandmaster Flash for summer gigs at the Lloyds Amphitheatre.

Todd Wills, artistic director at Colston Hall said: “Belle and Sebastian are one of those great indie bands that have influenced countless others, with a huge back catalogue that will look and sound incredible against the backdrop of Bristol’s Harbourside this summer.

Having very special guests Django Django also on the bill will make this a gig unlike any of the Harbourside shows we’ve presented before.”
