Aussie rockers The Chats will return to Bristol as part of 2020 UK tour

Pub-rock three-piece, The Chats, played one of the best O2 Academy gigs of 2019 during their Bristol debut back in December.

Formed in 2016 in Queensland, The Chats are one of the most exciting bands to come out of Australia in a long time, combining a huge 'shed-rock' sound with carefree Aussie personalities and lead vocalist Eamon Sandwith's already-iconic ginger mullet.

The group shot to worldwide notoriety in 2017 with their hit single Smoko, accompanied by a homemade music video posted on Youtube which has garnered over 7 million views to date.

From there The Chats have become a household name across Australia and beyond, known for their hectic live shows and no-fucks-given attitude.

2019 was something of a breakout year for the band, who added the likes of Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, Iggy Pop and Alex Turner to their growing fan base after the world-renowned frontmen saw them on their US tour.

The Chats' sold-out Bristol show in December was the perfect way to make their debut in the city, as they transformed the O2 Academy into a wild back-alley basement venue with a setlist of tracks about ciggies, pub grub and catching chlamydia.

They'll be back in the city as part of another run of UK shows in October, on Sunday 18 October. In the meantime, you can check out our review of their debut gig here.

Tickets for The Chats live at the O2 Academy Bristol on Sunday 18 October go on sale on this Friday (24 January 2020). Get yours here
