Interactive light installation opens on Millennium Square

Posted on: 13 Dec 2019

From Burning Man to Bristol: Submergence has arrived in Millennium Square for a limited time.

An interactive installation, Submergence is a walkthrough light show, filled with thousands of hanging, colour-changing lights.

The installation has been exhibited across the world, and now it has arrived in Bristol’s Millennium Square just in time for Christmas.

Popping up in Bristol until 30 December 2019, Submergence is open to the general public every day from 17:00 until 23:00. Even better, it’s completely free entry.

Immersive and interactive, Submergence creates a new space for adults and children to enjoy this year’s festivities.

Described as a global sensation, the light show has been exhibited in London’s Canary Wharf, the U.S. and Mexico.

The exhibition has been created by Squidsoup: a digital arts group comprised of artists, researchers, technologists and designers.

Squidsoup specialise in combining sound, light, physical space and virtual worlds to produce immersive experiences.

The Square offers a range of Christmas activities

Submergence is the latest addition to The Square’s Christmas pop-ups.

At the moment, you can visit the Square to enjoy their Aprés Bar, some seasonal street food (Yorkshire pudding wraps included) and the BUMP Rollerdisco.
