Bristol’s Filipino community has arranged for the incredible, colourful, and inclusive Barrio Fiesta to take place on the 20th June. This is the fifth year of the event, one which commemorates the 116th Philippines Independence Day, and defines the the significant theme of what it really means to be a Filipino.

Anyone is welcome to attend this free cultural festival full of music and food at Eastville Park. Vibrant shows, performances and exhibitions will take place over the course of the festival, linking Britain and the Philippines in their incredible talents and skills.

The festival will also highlight famous events in the Filipino calendar such as Flores de Mayo and cultural dances, where participants wear colourful and traditional Philippines clothing with pride. This is a chance to witness one of the many thriving aspects of Bristol life, and a huge part of the diversity within that. Local ‘Fil-Brit’rock bands will be performing at the festival – showing their wide reaching genre appeal to people of all ages.

This event routinely attracts the majority of the Filipino/British communities in the South West, and numbers are estimated at between 500 and 1,000+. The whole festival is free of charge and open to all. For more information visit the Filipino Community in Bristol homepage.
