Roberts Property Services are Bristol Business of the Week
Posted on: 23 Jun 2014365Bristol caught up with Neil and Zoe Roberts from Roberts Property Services over the weekend to ask them our Bristol Business of the Week questions. The company provide a full range of building and carpentry services with specialties including repairs, renovations and replacements to homes, gardens and business premises. It is a small company which is able to bring a personal touch to the completion of works ranging from full installations to small general maintenance.
1. When did you set up Roberts Property Services?
Business set up in 1995 so next year will be the 20th anniversary of the company!
2. Are you from Bristol?
Yes, both of us and our apprentices too. We are based in South Bristol but covering the whole of the South West region.
3. How's business?
Business is good and strong and we are receiving new enquiries on a weekly basis. We endeavour to provide all of our clients with an excellent service and find that being punctual, working to budgets and keeping our clients premises tidy leads to them recommending us to their friends and family in and around Bristol looking for building services or renovations.
4. Tell us about your business?
Carpentry and general building services are our trade - from a door handle to a complete house build. Fitted kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms are a speciality and we are fully insured.
5. How do you find running an independent business in Bristol?
The building trade is always very competitive however we have been doing very well despite the economic downturn which appears to be on the up now!. If you are looking for a quality service then call Roberts Property Services on 01275 839862 or 07887 911918.
6. Where do you like to eat out in Bristol?
Who doesn't love a great steak - we're checking out some of the venues 365Bristol have been recommending! Also a good curry from Paprika in Whitchurch.
7. What's your favourite place in Bristol?
Having a few beers with good friends down on the waterfront.
8. Where do you see Roberts Property Services in 5 years time?
Still providing a good, reliable & quality service and employing and training more youngsters looking for a career in the building trade.
9. What advice would you give to any aspiring Bristol small business owners?
Make sure your customers know your terms of business. It can only take a few bad payers when you are starting out to ruin your cashflow - the main downfall of most new businesses.
10. If you were Mayor of Bristol for a day which one thing would you change?
If I was Mayor of Bristol I would get all of the brownfield sites in Bristol developed rather than eating into the greenbelt. Some of the eyesores in the City have been sat empty for far too long and a boost to the construction sector provides so many knock on benefits to the City. Also I'd be telling all companies the benefits of the apprenticeship scheme.
