Spring is well and truly upon us and attention is starting to turn towards sunnier days and Bristol’s wonderful summer festival programme!

 

With tickets already flying out the door for some of the city’s biggest parties – including annual favourites, the inaugural edition of a brand-new food festival and returning Bristol music legends – we’ve decided to round up some of Bristol’s best parties, and where you can find tickets.

Love Saves The Day @ Ashton Court Estate | Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 May 2024

 

The next massive event on Bristol’s cultural calendar is the always popular Love Saves The Day, hitting Ashton Court Estate once again across the May Bank Holiday weekend. With the likes of Camelphat, Rudimental, Sub Focus, The Streets and CASISDEAD all playing and Saturday tickets already on Tier 3, you don’t want to miss this one!

 

 

Take That: This Life On Tour @ Ashton Gate | Saturday 8 and Sunday 9 June 2024

 

One of the UK’s most successful bands, Take That will return to Ashton Gate once again this summer to celebrate the release of their ninth studio album, This Life. Gary Barlow, Mark Owen and Howard Donald will perform a doubleheader to tens of thousands of adoring Bristolians – support comes from Olly Murs.

 

 

Ashton Gate Presents BS3 @ Ashton Gate | Saturday 22 June 2024

 

Taking over the BS3 stadium for a full day of back-to-back hits this summer, the debut edition of this ultimate stadium festival is sure to prove special. Music lovers will be treated to unforgettable sets from A-list acts including Ne-Yo, Craig David, Jess Glynne, Dizzee Rascal, Stefflon Don and more.

 

 

Kings of Leon: Can We Please Have Fun Tour @ Ashton Gate | Sunday 23 June 2024

 

Returning to Bristol for the first time in 21 years this summer, during which time they’ve released eight critically acclaimed albums, are Kings of Leon. The Grammy-winning, multi-platinum US rock band are gearing up to release a highly anticipated new album and is sure to wow BS3 with such hits as ‘Sex on Fire’ and ‘Use Somebody’.

 

 

Bristol Sounds @ Canons Marsh Amphitheatre | Saturday 22 until Sunday 30 June 2024

 

This year expanded to seven events, the ever-popular Bristol Sounds series returns once more to the city’s picturesque harbourside. The 2024 headliners are as follows: Skindred, Gentleman’s Dub Club X The Skints, James Arthur, Busted, Placebo (SOLD OUT), Annie Mac and The Breeders, with plenty of exciting support acts.

 

 

 

 

Bristol Pride @ The Downs | Saturday 13 July 2024

 

Pride is always a special day in Bristol’s cultural calendar, celebrating the LGBTQ+ community with a day of joy, celebration, and community. Organisers recently announced their first wave of acts with RuPaul’s Drag Race and Drag Race UK stars taking to the Cabaret Stage and Confidence Man Djs headlining the official afterparty.

 

 

Bristol Harbour Festival @ Bristol Harbourside | Friday 19 to Sunday 21 July 2024

 

Returning once again in July, this FREE staple of Bristol’s summer celebrates the iconic harbourside of our beautiful city with two full days of dance, music, arts and more. Details of this year’s programme are yet to be announced but, with applications to play now closed, should be expected soon.

 

 

 

 

Feast On @ The Downs | Friday 26 until Sunday 28 July 2024

 

Next, we have the inaugural edition of the latest addition to Bristol’s thriving food scene. With Foodies Festival departing for Bath, Feast On looks all set to a proper independent event, taking into the flavours and meals that make our city great. With restaurant pop-ups, a produce market, a banqueting area and more - don’t miss out!

Siren Presents: Sugababes @ Canons Marsh Amphitheatre | Thursday 1 August 2024

 

The first of two Siren Bristol events to appear on this list will see icons of the UK music scene, the incredible Sugababes headline the Bristol Amphitheatre. Fans will soak in the summer rays as they sing their hearts out to such hits as ‘Push the Button’, ‘Round Round’ and ‘Overload’.

 

 

Siren Presents: Hospitality On The Harbour @ Canons Marsh Amphitheatre | Saturday 3 August 2024

 

After two years of sellouts, Hospitality On The Harbour is back with its biggest line-up to date. Expect the very best artists in the world of DnB with earth-shattering sets from the likes of Andy C + Tonn Piper, Netsky and High Contrast, special guest A Little Sound and many more.

 

 

Bristol Balloon Fiesta @ Ashton Court Estate | Friday 9 until Sunday 11 August 2024

 

2024 marks the 46th chapter in the legendary Bristol event’s illustrious history. Cut down to three days this year, the FREE-to-attend fiesta celebrates the city as well as the remarkable world of hot air balloons with over 100 balloons taking to the skies above Bristol. Synonymous with our wonderful city, this is always a real highlight of the year.

 

 

Massive Attack: Act 1.5 Climate Action Accelerator | Sunday 25 August 2024

 

Trip hop pioneers and Bristol music legends Massive Attack will be making their triumphant return to the city in August for a climate action all-dayer featuring a slew of special guests (still to be announced) that will trial new standards for the decarbonisation of live music.

 

 

Forwards Festival @ The Downs | Saturday 31 August and Sunday 1 September 2024

 

Forwards has been at the forefront of the UK festival scene for three years now, bringing some of the biggest names in contemporary music to The Downs. The 2024 event will feature headline sets from Loyle Carner on Saturday and LCD Soundsystem on Sunday alongside the likes of Four Tet, Jessie Ware, Yard Act, CMAT and others.

 

 

Honourable mention…

 

A notable omission from this list is St Pauls Carnival, the vibrant celebration of African and Caribbean culture right in the heart of Bristol. The reason the Carnival is not included in this list is because despite its triumphant return last year. Once an annual Bristol cultural highlight, it’s a real shame that it won’t be taking over the streets of St Paul once again in 2024.
