There’s a monthly women’s beer meetup happening across Bristol

Good Chemistry Brewing, one of Bristol’s most beloved local brewers, hosts a beer and meet-up night for women, by women – She Drinks Beer.

Good Chemistry are a Bristol brewing powerhouse that have been going for nearly ten years now. Starting out in St.Phillips with just 10 barrels, their operation has grown to provide acclaimed and beloved beer across the city – as well as running two pubs, the stylish Good Measure in Redland, and the historic King’s Head on Victoria St.

Those two venues also play host to events, from tap takeovers to brewery trails – and a women’s beer night. She Drinks Beer is an event for women who enjoy beer – whether that’s brewers, drinkers or both!

This is an event to disrupt both the pub and the brewing industries as a traditionally male space – highlighting the experience of being in a pub with mostly other women. The event isn’t an organisation or club as such – just an invitation to meet other women, and get a chance to talk about making and drinking great beer outside of a male-dominated space!

It’s worth noting too – GC don’t make a distinction against any women. She Drinks Beer is a friendly, inclusive space for all; including non-binary, transgender and GNC folks. They even note that the pub is still open to all on the night – it’s not a women-only night by any means.

She Drinks Beer is hosted monthly (usually the first Tuesday of the month, but sometimes the second) and alternates between GC’s two pubs, the Good Measure and the King’s Head – so look out for the next one near you!

The next She Drinks Beer is next week, April 9, and will be hosted at The King’s Head. For more information, head to their website.
