Debuting on the stand-up comedy circuit back in 2007, Nick Helm quickly began to build momentum, gaining attention from across the industry for his unique, powerful and hilarious mix of one-liners, stories, poems and songs.
His early shows, including his debut solo piece ‘Keep Hold Of The Gold’ in 2010, enjoyed sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Fringe with a joke from his second show, 2011’s ‘Dare To Dream’, winning Dave’s funniest joke award – he has twice been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Awards.
Helm has also released two successful albums, played the lead role in hit television sitcoms Uncle and Loaded, and fronted two of his own TV shows Eat Your Heart Out (Dave) and Nick Helm’s Heavy Entertainment (BBC).
He was also nominated for a BAFTA for the short film Elephant, which he co-wrote, directed and starred in and has appeared on Live at the Apollo (BBC), 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (Channel 4), The Reluctant Landlord (Sky) and numerous other prestigious shows.
As well as Bristol, Nick Helm’s new tour will drop by venues in Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Brighton, York, Manchester, Southampton, Plymouth, Leeds, Bath, Wolverhampton, Birmingham, Southend, Reading, Exeter, Swindon, Wells, Cardiff, Sheffield, Newcastle, Hull, Cambridge, Norwich, and London. Visit the tour website for more information.
To celebrate the 10th Anniversary of BBC’s Uncle, here’s a Karaoke version for the song Gwen from Ep 1 that (sort of) started it all (if you don’t count the C4 Pilot - which was basically the same only with shitter hair). ???? #Uncle #NickHelm #Gwen #10YearsOfBBCUncle#Banger pic.twitter.com/hsg48Lktf9
