Hairspray! The Musical runs at The Bristol Hippodrome from Monday 24 February till Saturday 1 March 2025.

 

Heading out on a lengthy tour of the UK and Ireland across 2024 and 2025, the ultimate feel-good musical is back, filled with ecstatic fun, show-stopping numbers, dazzling costumes and dizzying dance routines that you can’t help but shimmy along to. “You can’t stop OUR beat, so run and tell that!”

Welcome to the swinging 60s, where everyone’s grooving to a brand-new sound! We are introduced to Tracy Turnblad, with big hair, a big heart and big dreams to dance her way onto national TV.

 

Her journey for acceptance sees her befriending teen idol Link Larkin as well as Seaweed, Little Innez and Motormouth Maybelle who stand with her to fight against intolerance, bigotry and racism and they strive to bring unity to the city of Baltimore. Can the new girl help win equality and Link’s heart?

 

Based on John Waters’ 1988 film of the same name, Hairspray! The Musical features some of musical theatre’s biggest and best hits, including ‘Welcome To The 60s’, ‘You Can’t Stop The Beat’, ‘Good Morning Baltimore’ and so many more. This is a hilarious, joy-filled and uplifting musical aimed at the whole family!
