A chart-topping UK icon is dropping by Bristol next month

A veritable king of bangers, the one and only Example has been at the pinnacle of UK hip-pop for well over a decade – now he’s coming to Bristol.

 

Example is set to play O2 Academy Bristol on Monday 12 February 2024.

 

Having crafted a career drenched in accolades, career-defining shows, sold out tours and multiple platinum records, Example is embarking on an extensive tour of the UK and Ireland with many of his scheduled dates already sold out – hurry if you want to catch the renowned MC in action!

With eight albums to his name, Example (real name Elliot Gleave) has had a stellar career to date, enjoying a lengthy stint at the pinnacle of UK music, releasing inescapable anthems that bridge the gap between electronic, rap and pop.

 

Born in Hammersmith, London, Gleave cut his teeth as an MC whilst studying at Royal Holloway. It was during his time at the university that he recorded a concept album with one of the recorded tracks, ‘A Pointless Song’, later becoming his debut single in 2004.

 

This was followed by a smattering of underground singles – including releases on Mike Skinner’s Beats label – which gained the attention of BBC DJs. After signing to Ministry of Sound’s Data label, Example began to make waves on the dance music scene with club-ready singles and longer form releases.

 

However, it was 2010’s Won’t Go Quietly that truly cemented Example’s highflyer status, featuring production from the likes of Calvin Harris and Chase & Status. His 2011 effort, Playing in the Shadows debuted at number one in the UK album charts and the iconic MC has never looked back.

 

As well as Bristol, Example’s 2024 UK and Ireland tour will see him drop by venues in Bridlington, Lincoln, Buckley, Glasgow, Newcastle, Nottingham, Manchester, Bexhill, Bournemouth, Birmingham, Leeds, Norwich, Belfast, Dublin, Cardiff and London. Find out more on the artist’s website.
