Popular comedy duo’s reunion tour set to drop by Bristol in May

Posted on: 29 Jan 2024

For the first time in ten years, Hugh Dennis and Steve Punt are back on the road: older, but not really that much wiser – you do not want to miss this.

Punt and Dennis will be at Clifton’s Redgrave Theatre on Monday 27 May 2024.

The pair are returning to what they do best, sitting in traffic wondering if a different route would have been better, and then in the evening, presenting their new show. What have they learned from a decade following the news for Mock the Week and The Now Show? What wisdom has experience taught them? Have they learned any new jokes? Let’s hope so.

Punt and Dennis are a much-loved comedy double act made up of Steve Punt (writer for Would I Lie To You?, Mock the Week) and Hugh Dennis (star of Mock the Wek, Outnumbered, Fleabag and more).

They met during the 1980s at the renowned sketch comedy troupe Footlights whilst studying at Cambridge. After cutting their teeth on the London circuit, Punt and Dennis branched into TV and radio, appearing on Jasper Carrott’s shows and on BBC Radio 1 comedy show The Mary Whitehouse Experience with the likes of David Baddiel and Rob Newman.

This was followed by the duo’s own series The Imaginatively Titled Punt & Dennis Show which proved widely popular. They continued to collaborate despite their own illustrious careers, with projects including It’s Been a Bad Week (BBC Radio 2), The Party Line (BBC Radio 4) and, more recently, The Now Show (BBC Radio 4).

In addition to Bristol, Punt and Dennis will perform at comedy venues in Southampton, Oxford, Salisbury, Winchester, Nottingham, Swindon, Dartford, High Wycombe, Cheltenham, Aldershot, Epsom, Cardiff, Salford, Colchester and Canterbury.

Punt and Dennis will be at Redgrave Theatre in Clifton on Monday 27 May 2024 with tickets available to purchase for £31.25. Secure your tickets HERE.
