This year’s Vintage Screenings kicks off at Averys Wine Cellars on Wednesday 14 February with a special Valentine’s Day screening of Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s delightful romantic comedy, Amélie. Thursday 15 February sees one of the festival’s most requested films in the shape of the 80s teen rom-com, Pretty in Pink.

On Friday 8 March, film buffs will be able to celebrate the 75th anniversary of cheery post-war comedy classic, Passport to Pimlico. Another classic Ealing comedy will be screened at Averys Wine Cellar on Saturday 9 March, namely BFI’s sixth-best British film of all time, Kind Hearts and Coronets.

Fans of the recent Oscar-nominated movie, The Holdovers, will enjoy a previous collaboration between director Alexander Payne and Paul Giamatti with the ultimate wine film, Sideways. Murder mystery buffs will be treated to one of the genre’s defining flicks on Friday 26 April with the 1974 take on Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express.

With 2024 marking the 20th anniversary of Walter Salles’ The Motorcycle Diaries, what better time to reacquaint yourself with the Oscar-winning road trip classic, screening on Saturday 27 April? Finally, as the weather warms up, it will be time for the sun-soaked but chilling contemporary classic The Talented Mr Ripley on Friday 24 May.

Each of these classic flicks will be carefully paired with a special wine tasting, courtesy of Averys’ resident experts and ‘An Introduction to Wine Tasting’ before the main event.
