Bristol fringe comedy venue The Room Above have kicked off their new year season with a bang – join in before it’s too late.

The Room Above, the fringe and alternative comedy theatre above The White Bear pub on St Michael's Hill, have taken a huge leap forward this year with a bonanza of comedy programming for this coming comedy season – and it’s already begun.

So far, the Room Above have announced nearly 20 different shows for their January to March season from a host of talented comedians pushing at the burning fringes of the UK comedy scene. It’s an exciting mix of evolving WIP shows, and fully polished, personal stand-up experiences – all from some really impressive names.

March 28 sees Sweet Prince, the critically acclaimed debut hour-long show from Horatio Gould, come to the Room Above. Sweet Prince, fresh off a sell-out Edinburgh Fringe run, is Gould’s (who has amassed over 50 million views online) debut hour-long show.

Another big, up-and-coming comedy name comes to The Room Above in the form of Stevie Martin’s WIP show. Martin (43 million views online) is the host of two smash-hit podcasts Nobody Panic and Might Delete Later – as well as appearing across TV from 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown (C4), to Breeders (FX/Sky), to The Mash Report (BBC2).

In addition to the cavalcade of comedy talent announced, the Room Above are continuing and adding to their already impressive stable of regular comedy nights. In addition to their classic White Bear Comedy Club (Friday & Saturday), and the free-entry New Act & New Material version of the same (Mondays), the Room Above is continuing their acclaimed midweek comedy show, The Bristol Comedy Room (Wednesdays).

As if that wasn’t enough, the Room Above have announced yet another top recurring comedy show to add to their stable – Bristol Comedy Cave. Organised by the Room Above but hosted at Basement 45, Bristol Comedy Cave is a response to the rabid demand to their current weekend shows. Taking place on Saturday from 19:00-21:00, it’s the perfect pre-night out comedy show.
