Rambert’s thrilling stage adaptation of the Peaky Blinders story will hit Bristol’s largest theatre venue later this year, featuring stunning dance, live music and more.

 

Peaky Blinders: The Redemption of Thomas Shelby runs at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 24 to Saturday 28 September 2024.

The play opens amongst the nightmarish backdrop of the Flanders trenches before a personal story unfolds in post-war industrial Birmingham. The notorious Shelby family must navigate the decisions that determine their fate.

 

Family head Tommy is struck head over heels by a mysterious newcomer, Grace. However, while Tommy is building up his empire, Grace is secretly operating as an undercover agent for Special Branch with the mission of infiltrating the Shelby gang. As the story unfolds, hearts are broken, and revenge is sought.

 

It is breathtakingly dramatized through dazzling dance and a live on-stage band performing specially commissioned music from Roman GianArthur as well as iconic Peaky tracks by Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Radiohead, Anna Calvi, The Last Shadow Puppets, Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.

 

This show is perfect for long-time fans of the universally acclaimed television show and fresh Peaky fanatics alike. Rambert’s production is written by series creator Steven Knight and directed and choreographed by the world-leading contemporary dance company’s Artistic Director, Benoit Swan Pouffer.
