Just over a month to go until Simple Things makes its grand return to Bristol

The beloved multi-venue festival is back with a killer line-up of innovative, forward-thinking music following a four-year hiatus.

 

Simple Things Festival 2024 runs from Friday 23 until Thursday 29 February with the primary day and night programmes set for Saturday 24.

 

This tenth-anniversary extravaganza will, as ever, feature a musical roster brimming with leftfield music’s brightest names, from mysterious rapper CASISDEAD to groovy rockers Warmduscher, noise rockers Gilla Band to Bristol-based hypnotic techno punks, Giant Swan.

Highlights from the festival’s day programme (running from 2 PM to 1 AM) include BBC 6 Music favourite Antony Szmierek, acclaimed masked rapper CASISDEAD, influential grime star Flowdan, eclectic Brixton artist Wu-Lu, hooky indie outfit The Bug Club and much hyped live favourites, Fat Dog.

 

There will also be a live 3D/AV performance from electronic artist Max Cooper, electro-pop experimenter Jessica Winter, Manchester’s ambient/techno explorers Space Afrika, captivating Bristol producer Silver Waves and more as well as ‘very special guests’ New York art punks Les Savy Fav.

 

In terms of the night line-up (running between 10 PM and 6 AM), Simple Things will be welcoming eclectic London DJ Amaliah, Daisy Moon b2b Danielle, prolific ambient techno act DJ Python, the genre bending Josey Rebelle, house favourite Julio Bashmore and many others.

 

Away from the Saturday programme, there will an array of events taking place throughout the week, culminating with a special show from Karin Dreijer (formerly of The Knife) and her idiosyncratic synthpop project Fever Ray on Thursday 29 February 2024.

 

This year’s edition of Simple Things Festival will run across multiple stages in Bristol Beacon, Rough Trade, Strange Brew and The Sportsman throughout the day and Lakota, Coroner’s Court and Strange Brew for the night-time programme.
