Hitting the mainstream with catchy and politically minded lo-fi indie viral hit ‘Brazil’, by the end of 2015 16-year-old Declan McKenna has performed at Glastonbury (where he won a major award) and signed to Columbia. The single shined a light on the corruption of football governing body FIFA.

McKenna’s talent for catchy melodies continued on his debut album, What Do You Think About the Car?, in 2017 which received widespread critical acclaim. His follow up, Zeros, charted in both the UK and US, hitting as high as number two in the UK charts with singles ‘Be an Astronaut’ and ‘Beautiful Faces’ also charting.

In 2022, ‘Brazil’ saw a new lease of life thanks to TikTok and last year the now 25-year-old McKenna released the first single from his new album, titled ‘Sympathy’. His new album, What Happened to the Beach?, is due on Friday 9 February 2024.

As well as Bristol, Declan McKenna will also play intimate album launch shows at venues in London, Trowbridge, Oxford, Leeds, Edinburgh, Dundee, Hull and Dublin. Album plus ticket bundles are available now from participating stores.
