An acclaimed historian, writer and broadcaster, David Olusoga has won a BAFTA for his work on television as well as being nominated for various literature awards for his 2016 book, Black and British: A Forgotten History which was accompanied by a four-part BBC documentary.

He is the presenter of the acclaimed, long-running BBC show A House Through Time - which included the story of an 18th century house in Bristol, where Olusoga resided for years - and, recently, Union: a documentary that shines a light on our fractured modern society through the lens of the past, exposing the fault lines dividing the UK.

As a professor of Public History at the University of Manchester, Olusoga is an expert at exploring what history reveals about our contemporary society. In recent times, statues have fallen and great men have been called into question; this upcoming talk will see Olusoga explore the causes of the ‘history wars’ and where we may go from here.
