Champions of Afro-Caribbean culture throwing free party to celebrate their one year anniversary this weekend

Afro Street, an independent luxury and lifestyle shop championing black-owned brands, is celebrating their one-year anniversary this Saturday – with a characteristically festive party!

Afro Street, an extension of owner Danny Duod’s Duodu London fashion brand, is a boutique with a focus on luxury and style that seeks to build a platform and a marketplace for black-owned lifestyle and fashion brand to showcase their wonderful work – and promote the best of Afro-Caribbean culture.

Based out of the Arcade Bristol, a Georgian Grade-II* listed shopping arcade in the heart of Bristol, Afro Street have gone from strength to strength since their inception: this year, they were named the "Best African and Caribbean Fashion Enterprise 2023" at the Southern Enterprise Awards – and they’ve already hosted multiple successful parties, including an exclusive fashion show to celebrate their Spring/Summer collections.

Now, Afro Street are celebrating a great first year – with their first year anniversary coming up, they’re hosting another free party this Saturday to celebrate

The party is set to include the resident DJ spinning tunes to keep the vibes warm and bright, free African-inspired bites and snacks, and Rum Cocktails using some of the great independent rum brands that Afro Street stock – such as the small-batch, tamarind-infused Caribbean rum Kromanti, or the UK-based sweet coconut rum Uche.

Of course, visitors won’t just get the chance to dance, drink, and eat – there’ll also be Afro Street's great range of products on sale. With Christmas coming up, this is a great two-birds-one-stone to party and shop at the same time – whether it’s for larger premium items like the Duodu London clothing range, or stocking fillers like fun and colourful socks, Afro-inspired jewelry, or luxury candles.

The party will take place at the Afro Street store in the Arcade Bristol tomorrow, Saturday 16th December, from 4:30-7:30pm. For more information on Afro Street, check out their website here.
