Tickets for Diversity live in Bristol are running very low

Britain’s most successful dance troupe are back in Bristol in February as part of a mega 66-date tour across 40 towns and cities, performing their smash hit new show, Supernova.

 

Diversity’s ‘Supernova’ show runs at The Bristol Hippodrome from Tuesday 27 February to Friday 1 March 2024.

 

Following a sold-out performance of their previous show, ‘Connected’, in 2022 – which explored human connectivity through playful and energetic routines – the iconic Britain’s Got Talent graduates are back with another of their spellbinding shows. Diversity was formed by dancer Ashley Banjo in 2007 with a group of close friends from East London and Essex, ages ranged from 12 to 25 and the troupe included four sets of brothers as well as three other members.

 

Two years later, the group auditioned for ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent with Banjo describing Diversity in the pre-audition interview thus: “Apart from dancing, there’s university, school, college, IT solutions, telecoms engineers. We’re diverse: age, race, height, hairstyles – we’re just a diverse group of people.”

 

An instant success, their spectacular audition was met with a full house of yeses. Buoyed by the nation’s (and the judge’s) love, the young troupe just kept going with their striking street dance routines that incorporated popping, contemporary hip-hop and break dance.

 

In the final, Diversity dramatically beat bookies’ favourite Susan Boyle to the show’s crown before taking to the road for a string of high-profile appearances live on US television as well as a gig outside 10 Downing Street.

 

Since then, Banjo – whose talents have been recognised with an MBE - has choreographed several acclaimed shows including sell out tours ‘Born Ready’ and ‘Connected’ as well as a powerful, politically charged Black Lives Matter performance on Britain’s Got Talent in 2020.
