Witness three classic Tchaikovsky ballets at The Bristol Hippodrome in January!

The critically acclaimed Varna International Ballet are returning to Bristol in January 2024 for three nights of captivating choreography, exquisite costumes and unmatched technique.

 

Varna International Ballet will take over The Bristol Hippodrome from Thursday 4 to Saturday 6 January 2024.

 

Founded in 1947, Varna International Ballet is renowned for its award-winning soloists and magnificent corps de ballet and has delighted audiences worldwide with its high-quality performances. Now, following a breath-taking debut tour, they return to the UK to present The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty at Bristol’s biggest theatre!

First up, on Thursday 4 January 2024, Varna International Ballet will perform Sleeping Beauty. Every child’s favourite fairy tale, this classic tale of love and innocence, mystery and magic is set to a sublime score from legendary Romantic composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky.

 

Next up is a special performance of The Nutcracker on Friday 5 January 2024. This most famous of fantasy ballets – again from the mind of Tchaikovsky - for the whole family begins as night falls on Christmas Eve, transporting audiences to a magical world of imagination.

 

Finishing up this three-day ballet season on Saturday 6 January 2024 is Swan Lake. This beautiful, romantic ballet exploring love, treachery and forgiveness is brought to life by Tchaikovsky’s haunting and unforgettable score.

 

This Varna International Ballet takeover is part of a busy early 2024 programme at The Bristol Hippodrome, with Whitney – Queen of the Night, Bowie Experience, The Drifters Girl, Life of Pi, Wicked, Diversity, Frankie Boyle, Edwards Scissorhands, Jesus Christ Superstar, Ed Gamble and more all appearing in the first three months of the year.
