In what is set to be an exciting day of action-packed roller derby, Bristol will be hosting teams from across the country on 10 November for some much-anticipated home game action, and you’re invited!
The games will take place at SGS College WISE Campus. Doors open at 12pm and the first game starts at 12.40pm.
Bristol Roller Derby (BRD) Women’s A team will take on Rebellion Roller Derby from Milton Keynes, who are on a winning streak having recently overtaken Bristol in the European rankings. Can Bristol’s A Team redress the balance?
The second game of the day will see BRD Women’s B Team, last seen asserting their dominance during the South West Season, test their mettle against Birmingham’s Central City Rollergirls.
Tickets for this event are available here- just search ‘roller derby’ from the home page - and cost £5 (or 2 for £8) in advance. On-the-door tickets cost £6 and children under 12 go free.
There will be a marketplace at the event, with cake stalls and roller derby merchandise on sale. The venue also has a fully licensed bar and café.
Roller derby is a fast-paced, full-contact sport played on a track by two teams on ‘quad’ roller skates and is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. It combines the physicality of rugby, the grace of roller sports, and the tactical complexity of American Football.
It’s an excellent spectator sport, attracting crowds of hundreds at venues across the world. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to cheer on your local team in what promises to be a hard-hitting, high-octane afternoon!
Bristol Roller Derby was formed in March 2010 and is a not-for-profit organisation run entirely by members for members on a voluntary basis. It is a roller derby league consisting of several teams and a group of officials. Bristol Roller Derby Women’s A Team is currently ranked 10th in the UK and 35th in Europe.
