World Helicopter Day at The Helicopter Museum on Sunday 19th August 2018

Posted on: 17 Aug 2018

Oh, how easy it would be to make a cheap joke about a big chopper. But I'll resist. On the other hand, you'll be able to soak up the spectacle of the world's largest collection of rotorcraft as part of World Helictopter Day at The Helicopter Museum on Sunday 19th August 2018.

The Helicopter Museum

You'll be able to clamber on board helicopters usually out of bounds to the public during a series of special cockpit sessions, which will include the likes of Westland Lynx, 'Hind' Russian Gunship and Vietnam Veteran 'Huey'.

And if you've a head for heights, how about taking off in a Bell JetRanger from the venue's Helipad for an awesome birds-eye view of Weston-super-Mare and the incredible coastline from 1000ft. Of course, you might prefer to keep your feet on trusty terra firma, in which case you watch a helicopter take off and land and take plenty of pics too.

The Helicopter Museum

The Helicopter Museum is one of the region's most popular attractions, home to over 80 helicopters including the Queen's Royal Flight and Search and Rescue helicopters and a great day out for the wole family.
