Bettella & Stabler: EP Launch at Cafe Kino on Friday 20th July 2018

Posted on: 17 Jul 2018

An evening of music written for the cello and piano will be performed at Cafe Kino for a special EP launch by musicians Edward Bettella and Jonathan Stabler on Friday 20th July 2018.

Traversing an eclectic range of musical styles from seemingly such musical polar opposites as Purcell and Steve Wonder, the selection of modern and new music by composer/pianist Bettella and cellist Stabler will be a mix of compositions by the composer himself with a few interesting short pieces by other composers thrown in for variety and good measure.

Cello Sonata No.1 will get a musical airing, following its world premiere in Bath last year. Recorded a few months after that, CDs of the piece will be available after the performance for this special EP launch.

Support will come in the form of performer and songwriter Jonni Slater and Maaike Siegerist, a talented Dutch jazz-folk artist who recently won the Glastonbury fm Songwriting Competition and whose music has been played on BBC Radio 6.

Tickets costs a fiver (great value for such an interesting blend of music and performers, we're sure you'll agree) and can be booked here.

Cafe Kino is located at 108 Stokes Croft, Bristol, BS1 3RU.  Tel. 0117 924 9200
