'UK pop's best secret weapon' Becky Hill set to headline Bristol's Thekla as part of October UK tour
Posted on: 13 Jul 2018Upcoming pop singer-songwriter Becky Hill is all set to embark on her first-ever UK headline tour this October, with seven shows scheduled, including one all-important performance at Bristol's Thekla on Monday 15th October. Hailed as "one of the finest voices in pop today" by legendary Radio DJ Annie Mac, Becky Hill is quickly winning over fans and critics alike with her unique brand of warm, summery pop.
Alongside the announcement of her headline tour, which will see her perform live in Glasgow, Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham, Nottingham and London as well as Bristol, Hill recently released the video for her latest single, Sunrise In The East. Shot in Vietnam, she describes the experience as "one of the hardest shoots I've ever had to do", but also described the opportunity to shoot in Vietnam as "a dream come true". Hill's only major release to date came in 2017 with the 'Eko' EP. She has, however, been more prolific as a contributor to singles, collaborating with the likes of Oliver Heldens, MK, Little Simz and Matoma over the years.
But, having worked on a lot of collaborative projects, the 24-year-old in ready to make her own way, establishing herself as an artist in her own right. Part of a new wave of British pop artists for whom doing things on their own terms is a necessity, Hill's artistic vision is entirely her own. “I’ve really always written music for me instead of other people,” she says. “It’s taken about six years, but I’m ready now and want to get my experiences out there.”
