Where to watch The World Cup in Bristol
Posted on: 13 Jun 2018For the next month Bristol and most other places in the world will be taken over with football fever. England are the only home nation to make it to the finals in Russia and are expected to cruise through their games on Monday 18th June v Tunisia and Sunday 24th June v Panama before what should be a top of the table decider against Belgium on Thursday 28th June.

Below are some great places to catch the matches in Bristol.
City Centre
The Crown show live sport from their 8 screens (with one high definition large screen), stock locally produced craft beers and ciders, and have a kitchen that’s open till 9pm every day with burger and lunch deals always available. They opened in 1741, making them one of the oldest pubs in Bristol.
Pizzeria, bowling alley and bar The Lanes will be screening the games in their sunny courtyard from their massive screens through their huge sound system. Pizza and beer consumption strongly encouraged.
The Fleece will open their doors at 5pm on the 18th June for the England Tunisia match which will be played via their two giant screens - there won’t be a bad view in the house! Traditional Irish pub in St Nick’s market, showing all the best in sporting fixtures. An unashamedly old fashioned bar which comprises a single small room adorned in red and green, with Irish street signs, old whiskey bottles and even a fiddle making you feel utterly at home.

BSB have 7 huge plasma screens on which they will be playing all 64 of the World Cup games over the summer. They have great food and drink prices, with bar food from £3.95 and lagers and ciders starting at £3.

Steam screen live sports from their indoor and outdoor screens, so you have the choice of sitting in their cosy beer hall or in the sunshine in their seated alfresco area. They’ll be screening all England games live on their large outside screen TV, hosting match day BBQs and providing drinks promotions as well as a large terrace fanzone, competitions and more.
Park Street
Located half way up Park Street, the Bristol Ram have just undergone a complete refurbishment which has given them a stylish modern interior. They have local beers from the likes of Moor Beer, Lost & Grounded and New Bristol Brewery.
Classic sports bar with pool tables, fussball and darts. Limited VIP seating available which you can nab by calling them on 0117 929 4295. They provide full table service so that you can get your Corona and curly fries without missing a moment.

The Cider Press call themselves ‘Gloucester Road’s Home for Sport’. They are known for their choice of 32 draught ciders, as well as a large range of craft beers and cask ales. Their 8 screens and 2 HD projectors are all used to show sporting events, so there’s plenty of chance to grab a seat near the action. The Blue Lagoon is a family-run café and music bar on Gloucester Road. They’re serving up 2 for 1 cocktails 6 till 11 from Sunday to Thursday and have a host of food offers for if all the game viewing works up a hunger.

Henleaze
If you’re wanting to watch the game from an idyllic sun-trap garden then this place is perfect for you. The Gloucester Old Spot are a fantastic family pub that are open all day for breakfast, lunch and dinner and have just built their very own, brand new Wendy house which is guaranteed to keep the kids entertained!
