Easter in Bristol Shopping Quarter

Posted on: 20 Mar 2018

If you’re looking for something a little different to keep you and your family busy in Bristol this Easter, then look no further! Bristol Shopping Quarter have teamed up with The New Room (John Wesley’s chapel) and The Methodist Church’s Ark Bus to host an Easter trail with a rosy twist.

52 handmade flamingos, decorated over the past few weeks by children across Bristol, will be hidden throughout Broadmead, The Arcade, The Galleries and Cabot Circus from Saturday 24th March to Saturday 7th April just waiting to be discovered.

To get involved with the trail, you’ll need to go to one of several information desks located in Cabot Circus, Specsavers on Merchant Street and the New Room in Broadmead to collect a map. This will tell you exactly where to find the beautiful birds and once you have uncovered them, you’ll need to make a note of their names in the grid on the map’s reverse.Flamingo Easter Trail Bristol Shopping Quarter

The New Room (John Wesley’s Chapel) will be offering chocolate rewards to all those who attempt the flamingo trail, as well as holding an exhibition of all the flamingo artwork used for one week after the trail’s finale. The children were asked to decorate their flamingos in a way which reflected this year’s theme of ‘love and tolerance’.

The trail is free to take part in, and offers a fun new take on a traditional Easter past time. Additional flamingo themed prizes, as well as a giant chocolate Easter egg, are available to win through Bristol Shopping Quarter’s Facebook page, which can be accessed here.

For those who are more interested in creatures of the Jurassic type, head over to The Galleries between the 27th and the 29th March for an assortment of dinosaur themed Easter activities including the Big Dino Dig, themed games, Dino classes and a dinosaur hunt, all as part of their Dino School programme of events.

The Arcade is located in the centre of Broadmead at BS1 3JD
